Playwright With Python Training in Hyderabad helps educational students develop practical skills in automated software testing. Debugging is essential for identifying errors, fixing failed test cases, and improving test reliability.

Effective Ways to Debug Playwright Tests

Playwright provides powerful debugging tools. According to the official Playwright Python documentation, students can use Playwright Inspector to pause execution, inspect locators, and step through test actions.

1. Use Debug Mode: Run your tests with this command:

PWDEBUG=1 pytest -s

It opens the browser and Playwright Inspector, helping you identify errors step by step.

2. Add Breakpoints: Insert page.pause() into your Python script to stop execution at a specific point and inspect the browser state.

3. Analyze Test Traces: Run pytest --tracing on to record test activity. Use the Trace Viewer to examine screenshots, DOM snapshots, errors, and network requests.

4. Check Locators and Logs: Verify selectors, review error messages, and inspect browser console logs to find the root cause of failures.
